Maxx Eyewear Sunglasses 14ER

Polycarbonate Lenses

Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic that was developed in the 1970s for aerospace applications, and is currently used for the helmet visors of astronauts and for space shuttle windshields. It has since become the standard in general eyewear due to its lightweight, durability and resistance to shattering.

UV400 Rated

Utraviolet (UV) light from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelid but also the cornea and the lens, as well as other parts of the eye. Ultraviolet light exposure can also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts and possibly macular degeneration. All Maxx Eyewear lenses (even clear) are UV400 rated, offering 100% protection from UVA and UVB light.

Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating (Optional)

An anti-reflective coating removes the “back-glare” caused by light hitting the back of the lens and reflecting into the eyes.

Mirror Coating (Optional)

Mirrored lenses are more than just a fashion statement. While the extra coating offers more brightness reduction, the reflected light can actually
brighten your held of vision for improved clarity.

Polarized lenses have a filter that creates vertical openings for light waves (like vertical blinds) meaning only light waves that approach your eyes vertically pass through. By blocking the horizontal light waves bouncing off flat surfaces, like a lake, pond or road, polarized lenses dramatically reduce glare, making objects look crisper and clearer...even letting see beneath the surface of water.
